Franzbrötchen

I visited Hamburg for the first time in 2017 for a summer internship. I immediately fell in love with the city - the brick buildings, the trees and of course the Alster. The following year I got a job offer from the same company and decided to move here.

I have been living in Hamburg since 2018 and enjoy every day here. With time I have discovered many interesting things about the city. At some point I noticed that many do not know these things at all and there is no central place where you can find all this information on the iPhone. This is how the idea for Franzbrötchen was born. I thought: Why not develop an app that contains everything about Hamburg?

Franzbrötchen is a City-Super App, the first of its kind. In the app, you’ll find things you might use every day, like a rain radar, public transport departure times, or public toilets. There is also information about Hamburg, for example on demographics, consumer price index and electricity sources. Helpful links to health and education are also included.

I have also added my own curated lists - such as coffee roasters, local brands and festivals. In addition, the app also contains things that you usually only find on the web, such as election polls from DAWUM, deputies from Abgeordnetenwatch or public inquiries from Frag den Staat. There is even a small game called District-Quiz.

Franzbrötchen is still a work in progress, I’ll be adding new features and content over time. If you install the app, you can turn on notifications to get updates whenever something new is released. If you like the app and support the development of it, you can send a tip so the app stays completely free for everybody.
